Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – Classroom

ACLS is an advanced, instructor-led classroom course that highlights the importance of team dynamics and communication, systems of care and immediate post-cardiac-arrest care. It also covers airway management and related pharmacology. In this course, skills are taught in small, group sessions and small, group learning and testing stations where case-based scenarios are presented.

Who should take this class?

ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest and other cardiovascular emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units.

HeartCode® ACLS Skills Testing  is the hands on session of a comprehensive eLearning program that uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings. The online portion may be purchased by going to the following link, HeartCode ACLS Online Portion

This Course is the skills testing portion only (Step 2) and does not include the cost of the mandatory online course (Step 1).  You must have an Online AHA Approved ACLS Certificate to complete this course.

To enter this course, students must complete the PALS Precourse Self-Assessment and must complete the online portion (not included)  before the skills testing is allowed to be completed.  once the online portion is completed, a certificate of completion is received and the certificate must be brought to class (mandatory) for access to be granted to the hands on skills testing.

 

 

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Classroom

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is a classroom, video-based, Instructor-led course that uses a series of simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics. The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.

Who should take this class?

The PALS Course is for healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children. These include personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units such as physicians, nurses, paramedics and others who need a PALS course completion card for job or other requirements.

BLS for Healthcare Providers – Classroom

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

Who should take this class?

This course is for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.

 

Welcome to the HeartCode® BLS Course. This course has 2 components: an online portion and an instructor-led classroom portion. You must complete the online portion first before attending this skills session.

 

This Course Only Includes the Classroom Skills Testing portion, You must bring your online certificate to the start of the course.  The online Portion is not included in the cost of this course.

 

Important: You must print the certificate of completion at the end of the online portion. You will need to give this to your instructor when you attend the classroom portion. It is necessary to show that you completed the online portion and passed the exam. If you do not have your certificate of completion, you will not be able to complete the skills practice and testing of the course.

Heartsaver CPR AED – Classroom

Heartsaver®  CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches adult, child, infant CPR and AED use, as well as how to relieve choking.  This course teaches skills with AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback and guide the students’ learning of skills.

Who should take this class?

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.

Heartsaver CPR AED – Skills Testing

Heartsaver® CPR AED Online Part 1 is a Web-based, self-directed program.  This is the Part 2 Skills portion only (Part 1 needs to be completed for entrance into this Part 2 skills testing portion. The program (Part 1, which is not included),  teaches students critical skills and knowledge needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Content includes how to perform CPR and use an AED.

Who should take this class?

This program is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR AED for a job.  This again, is the Skills Portion only of the 2 Part course. 

Heartsaver First Aid – Classroom

Heartsaver® First Aid is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.

Who should take this class?

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.

Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is a classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives.

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in First Aid, CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.  This is the Skills Portion (Part 2) only. 

You must Print out and bring your Certification of Completion of Part 1 to be elgible for this skills test.

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED – Classroom

The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 United States. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. The course covers the Four Steps of Pediatric First Aid and modules in:

  • Pediatric First Aid
  • Child/Infant CPR AED
  • Adult CPR AED
  • Asthma Care Training

The modular classroom-based course is designed to be flexible and allow Instructors to teach either Pediatric First Aid, CPR AED or both.

  • Others responsible for children including parents, grandparents, babysitters and guardians

Heartsaver First Aid –Skills Test

Heartsaver® First Aid Online Part 1 (not included),  is a Web-based, self-directed program. This program teaches students critical skills and knowledge needed to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Content includes how to help a victim with bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first aid emergencies.  This is the skills portion of the online class.   You must bring your course completion certificate to course to be able to complete the skills testing.

Who should take this class?

This program is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid for a job, regulatory or other requirement and is seeking an alternative to classroom-based training.  The online portion is not included in the cost of this course.

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED –Skills Test Only

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Online Part 1 (not included), teaches child care providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.

It covers the Four Steps of First Aid and pediatric first aid skills such as finding the problem, stopping bleeding, bandaging and using an Epinephrine pen, as well as child CPR AED and infant CPR. Optional modules in adult CPR AED, child mask, infant mask and Asthma Care Training for Child Care Providers are also available.

 

This is the SKILLS PORTION ONLY of this 2 part course.  The online portion is not included.  You must bring your online completion certificate to the skills testing to complete this course.
